Terry McGinnis is not the only person in town with a secret alter ego. Derek Powers was one
of the most powerful men in Gotham. Head of Wayne-Powers, this corrupt corperate leader would
stoop to any level to get his way, and usually did.
However, his first encounter with the new Batman changed all that. Doused with mutagenic virus of his own creation, Powers' scientist barely managed to save his life. The virus took it's toll, and Powers was left in a horrific state, glowing with radioactive energy. Powers still maintains his corporate control. He hides his appearence with artificial skin that lets him appear perfectly normal. But these skins only last a day, and are becoming less and less efective as his power grows. How long will Powers be able to keep his other side hidden, the radioactive powerhouse know as Blight? |  |
Parallels and Thoughts
 | Derek Powers is one of the most interesting characters in this series. As Powers, he is comparable to Lex Luthor, a slimy corporate leader whose underhanded dealings bring him into conflict with the city's protector and hero. But as Blight, he has power that Luthor never dreamed of. He already proved a dangerous fighter - he only lost his first battle with Batman because of intervention by Mr. Freeze. Though Powers seeks a cure for his condition now, he may soon realize the strength he has at hand. If so, he could prove to be one of the toughest villians that either Batman has ever faced. |  |
