"Harvest Time" Part 1 At the Gotham City Prison, the escape alarms suddenly began blaring. Two shadowy figures lept out of an enormous hole in the wall, and disappeared into the night. Across town, Batman was making his nightly rounds. "McGinnis, we've got a break-out at Gotham City Prison." Bruce's voice suddenly sounded in Batman's ear. "Gotcha, Bruce. I'm heading over there now," came the reply. "I wonder who escaped this time. You maybe Shriek's gotten over the shock of being deaf?" "I doubt it," Bruce said. "The police report says there were two escapees, and Shriek isn't exactly the partner type. Also, the break-out occurred on the side of the prison opposite his cell." "Then who could've escaped? That prison's locked up so tight, even the guards have trouble getting out." Bruce's only reply was, "Hmmm....No, it couldn't be...." A few minutes later, Batman arrived at Gotham City Prison, where, to his surprise, Police Commissioner Barbara Gordon was waiting for him. "It's about time you got here," she said. "The escapees were in the classified section of the prison, and the only guard who knows who they are will only talk to you, for some reason." "Okay, where is he?" asked Batman. "Follow me," Commissioner Gordon replied. The guard was an old man with a strange smile on his face named Eddie. When he came into view of the tiny video unit in Batman's cowl, he heard Bruce mutter, "Well, what do you know." Eddie calmly walked over to Batman. Batman asked him, "All right, Eddie, tell me who escaped." Eddie's only reply was, "Two of your foes from long ago." "Is that all I'm going to get out of you?" Batman asked. "Yes." Eddie said smugly. "Terry, get back here now!" Bruce suddenly snapped. Batman narrowed his eyes at Eddie and said, "Fine." He then walked out of the prison. Using his jet boots, he rocketed off, unaware that two figures were watching him from behind a tree. Later on, in the Batcave, Terry took off his mask and said, "So why'd you react like that when you saw the guard?" Bruce replied, "That man was Edward Nygma, the Riddler. After his rehabilitation, he simply disappeared. Who would've guessed he would become a prison guard?" "Is that why you called me back? To reminisce?" Terry snapped, sounding annoyed. "No. I called you back because I think I know who escaped." "OK, who is it?" Terry asked. "As you know, most of the villains I captured as Batman were locked away in Arkham Asylum. However, three criminals were imprisoned in Gotham City Prison: the Penguin, and these two." With that, Bruce activated the computer sitting in the Batcave. On the huge screen, the images of two people appeared. Terry's eyes widened in surprise and he said, "You have got to be kidding!" To Be Continued...
