In the music room, Miki tells Nanami how lucky she is to be staying with the Dean. Half-jokingly, she asks him if he would like to trade places with her.

Nanami catches sight of Touga with a girl in the rose garden and eavesdrops on them. She is shocked to hear Touga say that all of his kindness towards her was an act to please their parents, and that he finds her "commonplace" and "boring" Nanami is even more shocked when she realizes the girl with Touga is Keiko, one of her own henchgirls. She rushes in, slaps Keiko, and begs Touga to take back what he said about her. Keiko slaps her right back, saying that Nanami sickens her, that they are no different. Touga and Keiko leave Nanami alone in the rose garden. She realizes she has become like all the girls who swarm around Touga, the ones she always detested.

Akio is seen feeding pieces of an apple to an oddly dazed-looking Kanae. Utena is about to go ask them about dinner when Anthy stops her, saying that their time together must not be disturbed. Nanami comments to herself how creepy Anthy is.

Utena speaks with Nanami in the bedroom. Ignoring Nanami's hostility, she tells the girl that she and Touga can still be close, and that her memories shouldn't be affected by what she now knows. Utena falls asleep, and Nanami is given Touga's ringing cell phone by Chuchu. She finds Ends Of The World on the other end. She is told her brother is waiting.

Nanami returns home to find Touga waiting for her. She tells him that she has put in a request to transfer schools, so they will never have to see each other again. In reply, he holds up the said transfer papers. Akio then crashes through the wall, to take them both to the Ends of the World.

In the car, Nanami says how horrible Akio is, but can't bring herself to actually say what she saw. Akio tells her what she saw was only her world. Touga then tries to kiss her, but she shoves him violently away, crying that that was never what she wanted from him. Akio says that he will show even her the Ends of the World.

Nanami finds her henchgirls the next day gossiping about Keiko's encounter with Touga. When Nanami shows up, they talk to her mockingly of how they will pay her back. She is then seen in the rose garden, challenging Utena to a duel. She has Chuchu as a hostage, held by her now beaten and battered followers.

Utena and Anthy arrive at the dueling arena to find Nanami and Touga. Utena accuses Touga of tricking Nanami into dueling, but he denies it, saying she chose it of her own free will. He withdrawals the sword from Nanami's chest and the two fight. Nanami duels very viciously, but Utena beats her. Nanami drops her sword and sobs that she has nothing now.

Akio and Touga speak in Akio's bed. Akio says that Touga should tell Nanami the truth; that they are siblings by blood, both adopted by the Kyriyuu's. Touga tells him that it is more romantic to be siblings not bound by blood.
